- What: CITP is a hands-on didactic and pragmatic training and education program to prepare new investigators in the conduct and implementation of human subject research.
- Why: To promote awareness of the role and responsibility of principal investigators in the conduct of clinical research and good clinical practice (GCP) competencies for investigators conducting clinical research. To enhance investigator awareness of the administrative infrastructure supporting clinical research at UAB, and promote its effective utilization to enable efficient time-to-trial-activation.
- When: Tuesdays for five consecutive weeks; 9am-1pm for Fall sessions and 1-5pm for Spring sessions.
- Who: The program is designed for those with MDs, DOs, DMDs, and PhDs, with a heavy emphasis on the responsibilities of investigators when overseeing clinical trials with humans.

- What: A one-session, high-level overview of how to implement a sponsored or investigator-initiated study, including key clinical, regulatory and financial requirements.
- Why: To provide basic tools, familiarize attendees with research study terms, and help those new to research avoid common pitfalls.
- When: Offered every 2-3 months | 9AM-12:30PM
- Who: For young investigators and research staff who are new to research, as well as any who could use a refresher course in key aspects of a clinical trial. The CCTS strongly encourages new faculty, coordinators, budget and regulatory staff to attend. *Attendees may earn 4 AMAPRA Category 1 CME credits.

- What: In-depth training on essential areas of research with key leaders in research at UAB over six sessions. This program provides academic training in the principles required to excel in today’s dynamic clinical research environment.
- Why: To educate on implementing and managing a clinical study or trial with an emphasis on Good Clinical Practices (GCP), compliance, and other key topics.
- When: This is a six-week program, offered in the spring and fall, meeting once per week from 1-4:30pm.
- Who: Appropriate for study coordinators, billing staff, regulatory coordinators, and other research staff.
- Cost: $150 enrollment fee.
