The Clinical Eye Research Facility, CERF, at the UAB School of Optometry conducts innovative research in areas ranging from dry eye disease and contact lenses, to low vision and pediatric eye problems.
Participate in Studies
CERF is always in need of participants for a variety of research studies. We are presently seeking subjects 18 years or older to enroll in a database for notification of current and future studies. The database consists of basic demographics, contact information, eye health history and symptoms of eye discomfort. Visits to the Clinical Eye Research Facility are by appointment only.
To participate, a questionnaire can be completed online or via telephone, and will take approximately 10 minutes. There is no compensation for being included in the database, though future studies may include reimbursement.
