We’re excited to welcome Ben Moffatt to UAB Advancement as the Assistant Director of Development for the School of Dentistry. In this role, he will work with Kerry Chesnut and Scott Huffman to secure mid-level gifts, focusing on young alumni from the SOD. He will also facilitate the class gift projects during alumni weekend.

Ben is a UAB alum. He graduated in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Creative Writing before becoming a Director at a Lindamood-Bell Learning Center. Most recently, Ben worked for the YMCA of Greater Birmingham for more than six years, overseeing after-school programs and youth development.

Ben is a proud girl dad who says he still hasn’t gotten the hang of doing hair the right way. He lives in Hoover with his wife and two daughters. Ben’s oldest daughter started kindergarten the same day he started at UAB!

The Moffatts are Disney fanatics, complete with three cats named Mickey, Walt, and Oswald. Walt was the winner of the 2018 Cutest Pet in Birmingham for Birmingham Magazine and is very proud of his accomplishment.
