We’re so excited to welcome Christen Defnall to UAB Advancement. Christen is joining us as a Records Management Specialist for the Gift and Biographical Records team.

In this role, she will deposit gifts to the University and issue receipts to donors for their contributions. She will also help manage updates to biographical data associated with constituents in CRM.

Although new to UAB Advancement, Christen has been a Blazer for years. She graduated from UAB with a Bachelor of Arts in communications management with a double minor in political science & history.

Before UAB, she worked as an Event Manager at the Sheraton and Westin Birmingham Hotels. Most recently, she served as the Guest Services & Membership Supervisor at the Birmingham Zoo. She also completed an internship at Walt Disney World with the Disney College program during her time as a student.

Christen currently lives in Odenville with her husband, Dustin, two wonderful stepchildren, Jill and Max, and her sweet kitten, Casper. She loves to travel, especially on cruises or to the beach. In her spare time, she likes to read lots of books—particularly historical fiction—and work on embroidery sewing projects as gifts for friends and family.
