Allen has been at UAB since 2011, serving as director of Development for the School of Medicine for two years and senior director of Development at the Collat School of Business for four years before taking on the role of assistant vice president for Development in October 2017.

“David is truly a thoughtful and accomplished leader in the Office of Development,” Vice President for Advancement Tom Brannan said.

Over the course of Allen’s tenure, he has taken on many additional leadership responsibilities including Annual Giving, Regional Giving, the professional schools of Optometry and Dentistry and the Arts. His work has helped propel all areas of Advancement forward, Brannan said.

“Under his leadership, we have seen record giving and engagement with our alumni,” he said.
