We are excited to welcome DeShunn Wilkerson to UAB Advancement as a Development Coordinator for the Heersink School of Medicine Development.

In this role, she will support three front line fundraisers, ensuring her team is entering accurate and important information, meeting goals, and responding to donors.

DeShunn joins UAB with nearly two decades of dedicated service in the nonprofit sector, where she worked to advocate for some of society's most vulnerable individuals, including those who have faced homelessness and domestic violence.

She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor's degree in communication.

DeShunn is originally from Birmingham and curently lives in Clay-Chalkville. She is married and has two daughters—DeKota (11) and Haylee (8). In her free time, she loves cooking, going to the movies, and all things Marvel.
