We are excited to share that Ebony Harris has recently accepted the position of Senior Director of Development for the Collat School of Business. Ebony began her journey at UAB in 2020 as the Director of Development for the School of Public Health.

Ebony has seen great success in her role over the last four years. She has helped elevate the School’s fundraising efforts to new heights and created multiple major gift opportunities.

“It was a very competitive search, but Ebony stood out as the top candidate,” Associate Vice President for Development David Allen said. “Her experience working alongside a dean, faculty partners, and volunteers to accomplish fundraising results was impressive in the School of Public Health.”

Most notably, she developed and implemented an excellent plan to raise funds to establish the first LGBTQ Endowed Chair in any school of public health in the United States. She used that as a catalyst to engage community partners and to set the foundation for creating educational opportunities for professionals who provide health care to our LGBTQ communities.

Ebony also serves as co-chair on the Advancement DEI committee where she is a member of the DEI events subcommittee, helping plan events like the Birmingham Museum of Art tour and Blazer Kitchen Spice Drive.

Ebony will transition to her new position in the Collat School of Business on March 25.

“We are excited about her leading the Development and Alumni team in the Collat School of Business and helping the new dean accomplish the School’s strategic goals through philanthropic investments,” David said.
