Congratulations to Jawata “Joy” Davis as she was recently promoted to Records Management Specialist III.

In this role, she will work with more advanced gifts like wire transfers, stock gifts, and planned gifts, and she will issue receipts to donors for their contributions. She will also help manage updates to biographical data associated with constituents in CRM.

Originally from New Orleans, Joy moved to Birmingham in 2004 and has worked at UAB for nearly two decades. Before joining Advancement as a Records Management Specialist II in 2022, Joy previously worked at the 1917 Outpatient Clinic at Dewberry as a clinical office service specialist, where she processed patient records, released information to facilities on the behalf of patients, and scanned all patient documents into the system.

“Joy has been employed with UAB for 19 years, with two of those years serving in Gift and Records Administration,” said Director of Gifts and Records Administration Kimberly Burnett. “In those two years, she has demonstrated a high level of professionalism and continually goes above and beyond to help her team move forward and strive for excellence. We are thrilled to promote Joy to this new role that will challenge her and enable her to utilize her gifts and talents.”
