“The role of Assistant Director of Annual Giving was created out of an understanding that undergraduate and graduate alumni have vastly different experiences at UAB,” Director of Annual Giving Jennie Dickerson said. “Until now, we have been messaging these alumni the same way as undergraduate alumni.”

Justin will focus on the annual giving strategy for professional graduates from six schools: Heersink School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Optometry, School of Public Health, School of Health Professions, and the School of Nursing.

“Justin has grown so much in the last couple of years, and I am so excited for him to take on this new challenge as Assistant Director of Annual Giving,” Dickerson said. “Our professional schools will receive customized strategy, more fitting of their alumni’s audience. I am looking forward to seeing the impact of Justin’s work on our ability to communicate the right message at the right time to the right audience.”

Justin joined UAB in 2019 as a project administrator in the call center and then Annual Giving program manager of the Benevolent Fund in 2021. Prior to UAB, Justin worked in customer service and billing roles for BioHorizons, Total Care 280, and OxyMed, LLC. He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from UAB in 2012.
