In this role, Horton will work closely with Assistant Vice President for Development Megann Bates Cain and provide logistical support for ongoing advancement projects within the HSOM/UAB Medicine.

Although new to UAB Advancement, Horton has been a Blazer for years. During her undergraduate studies at UAB, she worked with the UAB Hospital in the Spain Rehab Center and on the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Most recently, Horton worked as an administrative associate for the HSOM Dean's Office, working under Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration Alex Boles and Executive Director of Communications Paige Dorman.

Horton was born and raised in Birmingham and currently lives in the Highlands area. Her hobbies include reading, hiking and supporting her sisters in their play performances. Horton is a fun person to have on your team—as she’s been known to break out into singing and dancing with no warning. She loves to stay connected in the Birmingham area—she is a member of Rotaract Club of Birmingham, UAB MHERC Young Professionals Board and is a Board Fellow of the Ronald McDonald House of Charities. Horton is also a dedicated basketball fan. During the season, you can find her at all the Birmingham Squadron and UAB basketball games.
