Joining UAB Advancement as a Director of Development for the Heersink School of Medicine is Kristy Henry.

As Director of Development, Kristy will support and assist the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Callahan Eye Hospital, and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Kristy joins UAB with nearly 15 years of experience in development. She has held various positions in fundraising at the NC State Student Aid Association, The University of Miami Hurricane Club, Barry University, and Oglethorpe University.

Most recently, she served as Director of Advancement at Mitchell’s Place where she oversaw communications, marketing, CRM oversight, annual giving, corporate partnerships, grant writing, special events, and stewardship. She holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering with a concentration in bioscience from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Auburn University.

She lives in Cahaba Heights with her daughter, Penelope, who is in fourth grade. She loves traveling, cooking, college athletics, and spending time with family and friends.
