We’re excited to welcome Annual Giving Manager Mary Mellown to UAB Advancement. In this role, she will work with the Annual Giving team to increase the number of donors and philanthropic dollars raised through online engagement and solicitation efforts, as well as work to improve current and developing new digital engagement and solicitation strategies.
Mary attended Birmingham-Southern College. As a student, she interned in the Annual Giving office and went full time once she graduated. Mary then worked in fundraising at the WMU Foundation, before returning to her roots in higher education at UAB.
Originally from Adamsville, Mary recently moved to Vestavia Hills. Although she didn’t attend UAB, she feels a sense of connection to the school because both of her siblings attended UAB. She has a pet chinchilla named Chewy. Her hobbies include macraméing, rock climbing, thrifting, and interior design.
