National Day on Writing

The Professional Writing Club at UAB will be hosting a table event for the National Day on Writing in front of the Mervyn H. Sterne Library from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on October 20. The event will focus on writing and its importance in everyday and professional situations.

Students and faculty of all fields are invited come together and celebrate writing. The event will feature the hashtag #WhyIWrite, door prizes, and information about professional writing as a career path, a major, or even as a minor to complement any major.

The National Day on Writing was founded by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) as a day to reflect on the importance of writing in the classroom and beyond. Educators across the country participate in the National Day of writing by asking the question “Why do you write?”
