Stella is the Director of Programs and Community Partnerships at Ruffner Mountain Nature Coalition, Turkey Creek Nature Preserve, and Red Mountain Park—three anchor greenspaces in Jefferson County. In this pivotal role, she advances strategic initiatives, fosters community partnerships, and oversees programs aligned with the overarching goals of these prominent natural areas. Stella's previous experience includes serving as the Program Director at Schoolyard Roots and as the Curriculum Writer at Jones Valley Teaching Farm, both nonprofits committed to fostering education in food and gardening.
A proud Birmingham, Alabama native, Stella takes delight in spending time in nature with her dog, playing pickleball and tennis, and sharing tea time with friends and family. Her wealth of knowledge and experience is underscored by her academic background, holding an MPA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a certificate in nonprofit management, along with a B.S. in Ecology and Biodiversity from Sewanee: The University of the South.
