Research Interests

My research focuses on two primary areas. Firstly, I investigate the relationship between specific biomarkers and cognition in older adults, both with and without Alzheimer's disease. These biomarkers include plasma and cerebrospinal fluid amyloid and tau, as well as various biomarkers related to cardiovascular, metabolic, and immune systems. Secondly, I investigate how early life factors such as parental death, social support, and childhood socioeconomic status impact cognition in later life. This involves exploring causal pathways connecting these early life factors to cognitive decline in later years, potentially mediated by cardiovascular risk factors or diseases.

Overall, my research aims to enhance early Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and improve understanding on how to positively influence the life trajectories of individuals at high risk of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
