Vicki Winstead (PhD 2014) is a program manager in the Office of Research and Scholarship in the UAB School of Nursing.

She presently coordinates several studies that focus on managing care resistance in older adults with dementia in nursing homes during oral care.

Previous work examined how older adults in assisted living communities experience using computers and the Internet. Recently, her interests have shifted to the attenuation and management of cognitive decline in older adults. She is part of interdisciplinary investigational team that will focus on the management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia and traumatic brain injury for informal caregivers of older adults.
