Do you want to be a leader in the lab? UAB’s Category A certificate in Research Laboratory Management will help prepare you to become just that. This program—ideal for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff—is designed to teach researchers how to lead and manage all aspects of a scientific laboratory.

To earn your certificate, which is offered through the UAB Graduate School’s Professional Development Program, you have to complete only five courses. But they’re all important to helping you become a laboratory leader. You'll study the basics of management, organization, safety, and compliance. Courses include Research Lab Management, Management and Organization, Managing and Leading Teams, Introductory to Regulatory Compliance, and Research Lab Safety. Our goal is to give you a leg up on the competition once it’s time to hit the job market.
