About the Program

Having the skills in your academic discipline is critically important to the success of your students—that's why you need to be as effective as possible when you teach. We can give you the training you need to improve learning outcomes for your students.

In fact, our Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) is specifically focused on training future faculty like you in the best methods for teaching diverse student audiences. Our core ideas are Teaching-as-Research, Learning Communities, and Diversity through Learning. Best of all, because we know you have a busy schedule, we offer our practitioner certificate in blended and online formats. Your classes will be geared toward objectives such as designing and implementing projects for the classroom, developing integrated learning communities, and engaging the diversity of your students. Additionally, you'll choose elective courses such as Mentoring 101, Writing and Reviewing Research, and Communication & Diversity Leadership to supplement your required curriculum. In the end, you'll implement teaching methods, improve learning outcomes, and share your findings.
