About the Program

If you’re interested in the field of health law, our coordinated MPH / JD program can give you the education and training you need to protect and enhance the health of populations as well as individuals. As an expert attorney in this area, you’ll be able to meet today’s increased demand for better public health policies, regulations, and laws to ensure equity and a healthier future.

Before you begin our coordinated MPH/JD program, which is offered in conjunction with Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, you must first complete one year of law school at Cumberland with a 2.5 GPA. For UAB’s MPH program, your courses can be completed online, and you will share up to 12 credit hours of their program in order to complete your degree in a timely manner. In addition, you can pursue opportunities to focus your training in healthcare organization, health behavior and program development, health policy, and many other areas of public health. For more information about their program, visit the Cumberland School of Law website.
