About the Program

You’re a current or prospective educator with the goal of working in a private school, for a community organization that offers instruction to schools, or even overseas. In other words, you’re interested in teaching students or developing a curriculum in settings that don’t require certification. Earning an MAEd in Educational Studies (non-certification) can help prepare you to work in educational settings with children of all ages—starting as young as preschool all the way up through high school.

In fact, in our program, you can concentrate in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, special education, or physical education. Your core classwork also will cover Curriculum Design and Implementation, Assessment and Measurement, Diverse Populations, Special Education, and a Practicum/Capstone. Our goal is to prepare you to learn how to design, implement, and deliver programs and instruction in a variety of school settings as well as for informal educational settings, such as science museums and community farms.
