About the Program

Ever thought of mixing quantitative and qualitative research to address real world problems? This program can train you to do exactly that. We can help prepare you to address complex research in a more meaningful way.

We carefully designed this certificate to help give you the mixed methods research expertise you'll need in your research practice. The program includes five three-hour online courses, one of which is an elective. You'll take Mixed Methods Research I: Introduction; Mixed Methods Research II: Designing and Conducting Mixed Methods Study; Mixed Methods Applications in Community-Based Action Research; and finally, Writing Effective Mixed Methods Grant Proposals. Your elective choices include Foundations of Qualitative Research, Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research in Public Health, and Qualitative Research: Analysis and Interpretation. By the time you earn your certificate, you'll have been exposed to the information you need to design, conduct, and evaluate mixed methods research in diverse contexts. You can also learn how to use mixed methods to design a meaningful intervention, and how to write effective mixed methods grant proposals.
