About the Program

With a PhD in Rehabilitation Science, you can make a real difference in the lives of those with disabilities. As you earn your degree, you can gain important research and educational skills to prepare you for a career in academia, research, or consulting.

Before you begin, we want you to sit down with a graduate committee so you can design a curriculum that best suits your career goals and interests. You'll start with your required courses, which include advanced seminars, research and clinical projects, research design, and more, covering topics such as neural control, biomechanics, motor development, disease processes, and the like. Next up, your thesis and dissertation work. Your graduate committee will be critical in helping you choose the electives that can help you develop the expertise you need to complete your dissertation with success. In the end, you can have the skills you need to design and implement research studies as well as educational courses.
