Office of Institutional EquityThe Office of Institutional Equity, a unit within the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, serves the institution by promoting the university’s shared values and supporting our commitment to equal access and opportunity, civility, and respect for all university stakeholders. We collaborate with campus partners to promote inclusive excellence by offering campus-wide diversity education programs, developing and monitoring policies and employment practices, and investigating internal and external complaints of discrimination and harassment. We also serve as the university’s liaison to the federal government on matters of federal contract compliance.

AWARE - Disability Resources and Services (Faculty & Staff)

The AWARE program at UAB partners with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) to provide disability-management services to employee’s when their job is affected by a physical, mental, or emotional impairment.
