LaQuinchata Taylor, IDD Alumna.

Thanks to a generous gift by UAB School of Education Instructional Design and Development (IDD) Alumna, LaQuinchata (LaQuin) Taylor (M.S. 2019), students in our IDD program have a brand-new scholarship opportunity beginning in Fall 2021. The Instructional Design and Development Program Scholarship will award two $500 scholarships each academic year.

Taylor created this scholarship to give back to the IDD program and inspire students to continue their instructional design journey.

"In one word – impact! I believe in the power of learning and the role it plays in our everyday lives," said LaQuin Taylor. "The UAB IDD program changed my career trajectory and expanded my professional network. I hope that this scholarship inspires current and future Learning and Development professionals to join me in contributing to not only our program but to our growing field as Instructional Designers."

Dr. Michelle Robinson, Interim Dean for the UAB School of Education, shared her excitement for the scholarship and its impact on the IDD program. "We are incredibly thankful for LaQuin's generosity to the IDD program. Through this scholarship, LaQuin will directly change the lives of our students and the Instructional Design and Development program here at the school."

Applicants must be currently enrolled in the IDD program, have completed their first semester of the program, and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. All applicants are required to submit a personal statement of 500 words or less describing their career aspirations and dedication to the instructional design and development field, along with their academic and individual merit. Additional consideration may be given to an applicant's financial needs.
