Why did you choose UAB?
I chose UAB because it wasn’t too far from home, and I was really impressed with the school as a whole. This school offers a lot of what I was looking for in a college, so I thought it would be a great opportunity for me.
Why did you choose your major?
In choosing my major, I knew I wanted to assist people in a more meaningful way, and I thought community health and human services would be the perfect choice for me. A career path that gives me options and opportunities is also important to me, and CHHS offers everything I need for that.
What is your favorite thing about the UAB School of Education?
The community at UAB School of Education is without a doubt my favorite part. I enjoy being surrounded by people who share my interests and it provides a sense of belonging!
One of my favorite classes at UAB so far has been all the English classes I’ve taken! My favorite part about writing papers is being able to exercise my creative control, which I get to do a lot in these classes!
Heritage Hall
My advice would be to get involved! There are so many organizations and clubs at UAB that you are sure to find one that interests you! This is the best way to meet people and have a great support group, which anyone should have, especially when starting out in college!
Following graduation, I plan to begin graduate school, work on my master's degree, and then pursue my Ph.D.
