Brandy McKinney received a 2019 Graduate School Dean’s Scholarship at the UAB National Alumni Society Scholarships Awards event on Oct. 1, 2019. Brandy is a doctoral student in Interdisciplinary Engineering with focus on Transportation Engineering. She is planning to pursue research in emerging transportation technologies and, in particular, human factors and Autonomous Vehicles interactions under Dr. Virginia Sisiopiku’s mentorship.

Brandy currently serves as UAB Student Chapter president of the Society for Design and Process Science. She is also a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Birmingham Section. She is affiliated with the Keep Birmingham Beautiful Commission and in 2018 she was named AmeriCops Member of the Year.
