Alabama Power Company began work in late August to move overhead power lines underground along 11th Street South. The phased project has since moved north along 11th Street South and will impact University Boulevard beginning Oct. 29.

During this phase of the project, crews will work 6 p.m.-6 a.m. to ensure limited impact to these high-traffic areas. During the nighttime working hours, University Boulevard will only have one direction of traffic. Traffic through 11th Street South will be limited, as the only access will be from 10th Avenue South. Detour signs will be posted to ensure drivers can navigate around the construction site.

This project is expected to be completed by mid-November.
