UAB’s Faculty Fellows in Engaged Scholarship program provides a one-year fellowship – structured around a year-long series of workshops – to help faculty design a new course or to modify an existing course to include a service-learning component.

The workshops explore theories, implementation and assessment of academic service-learning and ways to integrate this into courses across the disciplines.

The fellowship also provides a $1,500 grant to support course development and research, and fellows will have assistance and support of UAB’s service-learning coordinators during course implementation.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2017-2018 program year.
