There will be a Faculty Senate meeting on Tuesday, December 10th from 7:30-9:15 am in Volker Hall, room 302 at 1670 University Blvd.

Chair of the Faculty, Ria Hearld will give her monthly report. Dean of the School of Health Professions, Dr. Andrew J. Butler, will present a collaboration session regarding the Vision for the School and the School’s role in the larger UAB enterprise. Mark Ingram, UAB Director of Athletics, will present the collaboration session regarding the UAB Athletics and Faculty Input on the New Stadium Seating. University Relations Malcolm Lunceford will give away UAB 50th Anniversary Shirts and present regarding the UAB Memories Project. A Q&A, collaboration, and faculty advisement time will be included in each session.

Senate members and faculty present will be given the opportunity to make suggestions on developing a presence of the Faculty Senate in the social media.

Senate Committee Chairs will report on committee activities. Important information coming out of select university-wide committees will be shared.

An open forum time for faculty to raise concerns, ideas and suggestions and to make suggestions regarding items that the various Faculty Senate Standing Committees should address, is also on the agenda.

A full agenda is available on the Faculty Senate document website. Attendance is open to all UAB faculty, students and staff. Attendees are free to come and go as their schedule allows. Breakfast refreshments will be available starting at 7am.

If you need parking for the meeting, you may park in Lot 5A, across University Blvd from the Rec Center, between Volker Hall and the Hill Student Center. Enter on 16th street (side near Volker Hall). Take a ticket when you enter the lot and keep your ticket in your car. Then, at the meeting, please take a parking voucher, available next to the sign-in sheet. You will need both the ticket and the voucher to exit the lot without paying.

For the Open Forum and Q&A/Faculty input portions of the meeting: You may raise your question or comment by raising your hand or you may text it to a member of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee (number will be furnished at meeting), for them to raise anonymously on your behalf.
