We know starting on the academic job market can be tough, whether you're looking for a postdoc position or a tenure track faculty position. If you don’t know where to begin, you're not alone.

To help you better prepare, the UAB Office of Postdoctoral Education and the Graduate School will host a series toward the end of the fall 2016 semester. The free events will provide job skills training and help you gain more knowledge about the academic job market. We'll provide tips and tricks writing and polishing CVs, cover letters and research statements; preparing for chalk talks and interviewing; creating a start-up budget; and more skills that you'll need as you get ready to to apply for an academic position.

The series will kick off November 10, 2016. Events to follow are November 17, December 1, and December 15. Each event will be at noon, and lunch will be provided. Look for more information to come on the Graduate School blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
