UAB Center for Exercise Medicine (UCEM) will host its 6th Annual Symposium on Sept. 21 at the Hill Student Center Ballroom. As a pre-symposium event, the center will conduct a Science Communication Workshop on Sept. 20 at the Hill Student Center Theater. The symposium will feature keynote speakers Dr. Alex Hutchinson, physicist, author and journalist from Toronto, Canada, and Dr. Fabrisia Ambrosio, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, University of Pittsburgh and Director of Rehabilitation, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center International. It will also feature UAB experts from various fields.

Trainee Poster Competition
Each year, UCEM looks forward to seeing and hearing new exercise research from trainees ranging from undergraduate students to postdocs. So, get your posters ready to be one among the five winners to receive a $600 travel award.
Oral Presentation Competition
One abstract will be selected prior to the symposium for a 20-minute oral presentation during the symposium. Abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the UCEM Education Committee. The Oral Presentation winner will also receive a $600 travel award. ***If you would like to compete in the oral presentation competition, please indicate in your abstract submission/registration.
