The Graduate School hosted its Virtual 3MT Semifinals October 8-22. There were 27 semifinalists and nine of those will advance to the Virtual 3MT Finals for one last chance to win $1,000 and a spot in the Regional Competition. The judging for the Finals Competition is November 2-6.
The Graduate School is hosting a Virtual Watch Party from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 5. There will also be a Virtual Awards Ceremony on Monday, November 9, from 5 to 5:30 p.m. For more information on either of those virtual events, email Kim Eaton (kimeaton@uab.edu).
Hosted by UAB Graduate School and developed by The University of Queensland, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by Ph.D. students. The exercise cultivates students’ academic, presentation and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
Third place is a People’s Choice award. Voting for People's Choice will open November 2 and close at Noon on November 6. A registration link will be made available prior to November 2.
