What are you doing after you finish your pre- or postdoctoral training?
If that question makes you sweat, the UAB EXPERIENCES program can help. All trainees need to be informed and educated about careers within and outside traditional academic research to be job-ready in today’s economy.
UAB EXPERIENtial Learning for Career Enhancement in the Sciences (EXPERIENCES) is a professional development initiative that introduces UAB graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to emerging career options in the sciences. UAB EXPERIENCES leads its participants through creating an IDP and self-assessments and offers boot camps, shadowing and immersion experiences.
Make plans to attend an upcoming lunch and learn if you are interested in the EXPERIENCES boot camps and shadowing experiences. Representatives from teaching, communication, policy, business and research administration will be available to speak with students about what to expect from the program.
The lunch and learn, open to all graduate students and postdocs, will be Monday, September 12, 2016, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Hill Student Center Alumni Auditorium. If you have questions about the event or the EXPERIENCES program, email jamia@uab.edu or lschwieb@uab.edu.
