Anita joined the Harbert Institute in January 2022 after nearly a decade of experience working with research faculty in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. At the Harbert Institute, she assists the Director of Admin & Fiscal Affairs with financial matters such as monitoring budgets, providing projections and costing, preparing grants and contracts, preparing reports and maintaining financial databases.

Before coming to UAB, Anita worked at Samford University as an Accounts Payable Associate and Administrator Supervisor for seven years. She earned her associate’s and bachelor’s degrees at Samford with a focus on business, human resources and workplace counseling. Before that, she completed two years of course work in accounting and computer software applications at Bevill State University.

Anita loves spending time with her grandchildren and taking the occasional painting class.
