My name is Rose Albert, and I am a Chemistry major in the Science and Technology Honors Program. I work in the Mattheyses lab studying the spatio-temporal dynamics of desmosomes which are epithelial cell junctions that resist mechanical stress. One of my main involvements on campus is Green Initiative, the student sustainability organization. I deeply care about environmental issues and their role in human equity, and it is for this reason that I am also currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health. After UAB, I hope to pursue a career integrating components of medicine, public health, and research.
