UAB Digital Strategy and UAB IT are co-chairing a digital strategy committee to transform University operations and student, faculty, researcher and staff experiences.
Among the goals of the committee will be identifying digital strategies and tools that improve processes and create a competitive advantage for UAB.
“If a policy makes no sense, it shouldn’t be our policy. We’re going to improve it,” said Curtis A. Carver Jr., Ph.D., vice president and chief information officer. “The only verb that counts is delight.”
Developing the digital strategy is expected to be a multi-year process, with representation from key stakeholders across campus.
Subcommittees are under development but could focus on digital communications and marketing, accessibility, digital tool governance and strategic process improvement, along with ad hoc committees for driving revenue. The group will also consult with existing committees such as data governance.
