Now more than ever, it is critical for the success and future of our department to continue to recruit the most talented faculty. This will ensure that we meet our clinical mission of delivering excellent patient care. To lead these efforts, I am thrilled to announce that Brittney Clark, M.D., has accepted the role of Faculty Recruitment Director for the UAB Medicine Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine.

Dr. Clark is a longtime member of the UAB family, having completed her Doctor of Medicine and anesthesiology residency at our institution. She is currently an assistant professor and program director for the department’s Liver Transplant Anesthesia Fellowship. Her leadership endeavors don’t end there, as she leads Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy Anesthesia and is the director for the Anesthesia Services Division Complex Module. Additionally, she serves on multiple committees focused on residency recruitment, quality improvement, and strategic planning.

I am truly impressed by Dr. Clark’s vision for this important role. Her strategy includes new ideas to strengthen internal recruitment, enhance effective communication, and promote transparent feedback mechanisms. She is also committed to an enhanced interview experience for our candidates. We have high hopes for her success.
