After a rigorous interview and selection process, it is with great pleasure that the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, as well as the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesia, announces the appointment of Promil Kukreja, M.D., Ph.D., CMQ, as the Director of Trauma and Acute Care Anesthesia.
Dr. Kukreja received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from SMS Medical College-Jaipur, India; Diploma in Otolaryngology from the University of New Delhi-New Delhi, India; Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Tulane University-New Orleans, Louisiana; and Certificate in Medical Quality from the American Board of Medical Quality.
Dr. Kukreja strives to achieve our department’s tripartite mission of service, education and research. He has been an outstanding member of the trauma anesthesia core faculty team for the past eight years, has developed and mentored multiple research projects, and received the “Best Teacher Award” when ranked among anesthesiology residents. He has been an excellent mentor and clinical researcher, leading the regional section to publish an unprecedented number of papers. His team continues to promote a model for clinical research that continues to demonstrate outstanding success. This leadership position aligns well with Dr. Kukreja’s passion for providing the best possible perioperative care for our trauma patients, and as such, we expect him to excel within it.
