Resident Interview Season
Recruitment season is going strong for the residency program! After multiple gatherings including virtual open houses and attendance at medical student events, we are into the interview season. By the end of November, 14 interview days and 112 candidate interviews will be completed. During December, an additional 48 candidates will be interviewed.
Many thanks to the support of our administrative team led by Celia Keenan, our faculty interviewers led by Dr. Tekuila Carter (including Drs. John Briggs, Matt Broyles, Brittney Clark, Adam McKinney, Nishankkumar Nooli, Beomjy Ohlman, Paul Piennette, Stacy Wade, and Emily Wasson), and our residency recruitment directors, Drs. Zasmine Hymes-Green and Skyler Graham. Preparing for and conducting eight interviews in a day requires considerable commitment and is a big part of our success in recruiting great residents to our program.

Conference Attendance
Drs. Tekuila Carter, Harold Goss, and Prentice Lawson, Jr., attended the Society of Academic Associations of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine (SAAAPM) November 8-9 in Chicago. This conference included sessions for chairs, program directors, fellowship directors, and program coordinators. Most training programs in the United States are represented, and our faculty had the opportunity to hear the latest from The American Board of Anesthesiology and the ACGME. Dr. Prentiss Lawson, Jr., hosted the Pain Medicine Fellowship breakout session—a reflection of the work he does that is recognized nationally.
