Drs. Juhan Paiste, Weifeng Song, Jose Humanez, Jean-Francois Pittet, and Pankaj Desai and their families represented their home countries as well as the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the UAB Medicine Diversity Fair in North Pavilion on Friday, January 26.

The department's offerings included Estonian rulaad (pork filled with spiced ground meat, carrots, and eggs), rosolje (red beet potato salad with green apple, onion, pickles, and horseradish), singi rullid (ham rolls filled with cheese and garlic), as well as Chinese egg tarts and Colombian coconut brown rice.

"My wife, Jingqiao, and I really enjoyed the fair," said Dr. Song. "It was wonderful to see how diverse our School of Medicine is, as well as how enthusiastic our colleagues and family were to present their cultures."
