Michelle Tubinis, M.D., assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, has enthusiastically accepted the position of Assistant Director of Faculty Scheduling, effective April 1, 2021.
Dr. Tubinis obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2013, followed by a residency in anesthesiology in our department between 2013 and 2017, where she served as chief resident from 2016 to 2017. After completing an obstetric anesthesiology fellowship at UAB in 2018, she stayed on as a faculty member and has served as associate program director of the Core Anesthesiology Residency Program since February 2019.
The creation of this new position of Assistant Director of Faculty Scheduling was necessary because of the current expansion of our primary UAB-based practice and the growth of our community anesthesia commitments. Dr. Tubinis has extensive experience and interest in the organization and coordination of scheduling from her duties as chief resident and current residency education responsibilities. Additionally, her position as OR coordinator makes her uniquely qualified to excel in this endeavor.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Tubinis on her new role in this critically important position to assist with handling the needs of our rapidly expanding faculty and practice.
