Dr. Teayoun KimMembers of the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) participated in the UAB Core and Shared Resources Day 2025 on January 7.

Presented annually in conjunction with the Marchase Interdisciplinary Research Lecture sponsored by the Office of Research, Core Day offers faculty, students, and staff an opportunity to learn about UAB's core and shared resource facilities and how they can assist with research needs.

Etta Pisano, M.D., F.A.C.R, Senior Portfolio Lead for the ARPA-H Advancing Clinical Trials Readiness Initiative, presented the Marchase Lecture, and Timmy Lee, M.D., M.S.P.H., the Hilda B. Anderson Endowed Chair in Nephrology and Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Medicine in the Heersink School of Medicine, received the annual Marchase Award. 

Following the lecture, UCDC members participated in the informational poster session, which included a total of 55 posters from centers and cores across UAB. See posters here.

Core Day is coordinated by the UAB Council of Center and Institute Administrators (CoCIA). UCDC Administrator, Tiffany Grimes BSN, RN, helped support this year’s event in her role as CoCIA chair.
