On Saturday, August 19, the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism hosted the 2023 UAB Endocrinology Update Conference.
The conference brought in over 50 attendees, speakers, and vendors from across Alabama and beyond. It was an opportunity for clinicians to hear from UAB clinical and research faculty on topics of diabetes technology, osteoporosis, thyroid cancer, radiofrequency ablation, obesity, and more.
Through its programming and topics, the conference was able to offer 6.75 hours of continuing medical education credit, 8.1 hours of ABN credit, and 6.75 hours of ANCC credit.
The UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) was proud to support the operational work of the division. Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Assistant Professor Alexandra Dodd, M.D., who is also a member of the UCDC, lauds the collaboration it took to plan the conference.
“I am so grateful to our administrative staff who planned this successful conference as well as my colleagues and each of our speakers who were willing to come and share their clinical expertise and advancements with care providers from across the state,” said Dodd. “Thank you to all who attended and supported the conference.”
Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Assistant Professor Henry Zelada, M.D., who is also a member of the UCDC, enjoyed organizing the conference alongside Dodd.
“A huge thank you is due to all of our organizers, attendees, and vendors,” said Zelada. “It was wonderful to see so many expert endocrinology care providers gathered in one location to learn from one another.”
