Research and Teaching Interests:
- Developing algorithms for next-generation sequencing data analysis and research genomic rearrangements and disease genomics
Dr. Chong has been part of the department since 2017, and his computational laboratory conducts bioinformatics research with a focus on new sequencing platforms, including PacBio, Nanopore, 10X Genomics, and others. Chong has professional affiliations with the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
