James Cimino, M.D., distinguished professor of Medicine and chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science, recently attended the annual meeting of the Clinical Decision Support Innovation Collaborative (CDSiC) on May 14, 2024.
The meeting, sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), provided several presentation topics, including: “Exploring the Use of AI in Patient-Centered Clinical Decision Support (PC CDS)”, “Measuring and Improving PC CDS”, and “Examining Returns on Investment for PC CDS.”
Patients and patient advocates were able to participate in a roundtable discussion focusing on PC CDS, and updates were provided by AHRQ Director Dr. Robert Otto Valdez, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
Cimino serves on the CDSiC’s external advisory board.
