The Jerry W. Jackson Lecture is an annual presentation delivered as part of the NRTC Seminar Series. The speaker is selected by our Nephrology Fellows each year.
Jerry W. Jackson, M.D., is a Nephrologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), with special training and skills in interventional nephrology. He attended and graduated from the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in 1972 where he also completed his residency in 1975, and his fellowship in 1977.
He has over 49 years of diverse experience, especially in Nephrology. Through his private practice, Dr. Jackson provided nephrology care to inpatient and ambulatory patients with chronic and acute kidney diseases, and also worked as an interventional nephrologist. He served as Chairman of the Fresenius Medical Care Patient Safety Council and also collaborates with other doctors and physicians in medical groups, including Nephrology Associates.
