This week was National Volunteer Week, and it has me thinking about opportunities to give back and serve the Birmingham community.
First, I want to congratulate each of our fourth-year medical students on their strong showing at Match Day on Friday.
Continued scientific discovery is one of the things that make providing—and receiving—patient care unique at academic medical centers like UAB. One way we’re going to continue our innovation is through informatics, the science of collecting, reporting and processing data and using that knowledge to enhance patient care and health.
I will be giving my first State of the School of Medicine address from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28 in the Margaret Cameron Spain Auditorium, and I am personally inviting you to attend.
