Gareth Dutton, Ph.D., professor in the Division of Preventive Medicine, and Surya Bhatt, M.D., associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine, are the winners of this year’s Dr. Levi Watkins Jr. Breakthrough Awards for Research that Transform Health.

To begin, Stephanie Perry, M.A., practice manager in the Department of Pediatrics, shares her story and discusses diversity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ individuals at UAB.
