The UAB School of Medicine will celebrate Match Day 2017 on Friday, March 17, at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center, when members of the graduating class learn in which medical specialty they have “matched” and where they will carry out their residency training.
The first match will be announced at 11 a.m. following a short program beginning at 10:30 a.m. Doors to the Alys Stephens Center open at 9 a.m., with the doors to the Jemison Concert Hall opening at 9:30 a.m.
You can watch the ceremony live online at www.uab.edu/matchday beginning at 10:55 a.m.
Match Day is coordinated by the National Resident Matching Program, which provides an impartial venue for matching residency programs with more than 42,000 applicants—including graduates from U.S. medical schools, international medical and U.S. osteopathic schools— who compete for available positions each year.
