The Mary Heersink Institute for Global Health hosted guest seminar speaker Nelly Mugo, MBChB, MMed Obs/Gyn, MPH, a reproductive health specialist and senior principal clinical scientist at the Center for Clinical Research (CCR) at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and an associate professor in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington, on April 4, 2023.
Mugo has over two decades of clinical trial experience focused on the prevention of HIV, cervical cancer, and other sexually transmitted infections and providing hospital-based reproductive health clinical care services in Kenya. She provided a presentation on cervical cancer elimination efforts, a presentation co-developed with Leeya F. Pinder, MD, MPH, a Gynecologic Oncologist and associate professor at the University of Cincinnati.
While focusing on efforts to combat HIV and cervical cancer in sub-Saharan Africa in this presentation, Mugo shares applicable knowledge for multidisciplinary researchers in other countries facing similar and other various health issues. Tune into the recorded seminar to learn more.
